I was commissioned by the Parish of the Blessed Sacrament in Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa, to produce a crucifix for their newly renovated parish. It had to be 10% larger than life-size, lightweight and durable outdoors.
After using various mold-making techniques I managed to produce a very high detail fibreglass replica of Christ on the cross. It was installed with background LED lighting, and painted to suit the church building. The result was so eye catching to passers-by, that I realised many churches are not easily distinguishable (in comparison to Mosques for example).
My intention is to change that, and glorify the Christian faith by producing fibreglass crosses and crucifixes that show we are proud of what we believe in.
